Small Craft Sailing Club
We’re excited to announce the founding of our Small Craft Sailing Club at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. We are currently sailing with members every Wednesday evening that we have sufficient wind at 5:00 from our Basin Harbor Campus. Depending on the numbers and conditions we will sail either our 29’ replica Whaleboat, built originally by LCMM for the whaleship Charles W Morgan, or Woodwind our 19’ replica racing Sharpie. Join us with a one day membership or come for the whole season.
No experience is necessary to sail with us. New sailors can begin to get a feel for small boat sailing with one of our experienced staff while the more experienced have the opportunity to take the helm of one of these unique traditional boats. As you become familiar with our delightful, low tech, wooden sailboats become a member for the whole season and get checked off to sail them on your own.
If you’d like to get out, but Wednesdays don’t work for you, we can take out parties of 3 or more by prior arrangement. For more information and to sign up please contact Charlie Beyer at (802) 425-2022, ext. 122, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
