Wreck EEE was located during the 2001 sonar survey, and verified by archaeological divers in October 2002. The site appears to be a circa 1940s or 50s wooden-hulled powerboat. The 33ft (10.1m) long boat lies in shallow water in Malletts Bay. This boat was sent to the bottom by fire; however, it was unclear if the fire was intentional or accidental. The hull in the stern was burned to the waterline, while the bow was nearly intact. The boat still contains its two inboard engines, and the steering and throttle fittings and mechanisms. No registration numbers or other identifiers are apparent on the hull.
Please contact the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum if you know the circumstances behind the loss of this vessel.
