Birding and Boating

Two people sitting in a canoe and looking at the sky with binoculars.

August 17 , 10:00 am 12:00 pm

$25 Pay-what-you-can

Join us on canoes for a 2-hour program of paddling and exploring the birds of Otter Creek. This family-friendly program welcomes everyone from beginners to experts! Smaller children can take a middle seat at the bottom of the boat, where they will go along for the ride, no paddling required. Learn tips and tricks for paddling on the water, different ways to encounter birds, or just come to explore the birds of the Lake Champlain Basin.

Be sure to bring clothing that can get wet as well as water to stay hydrated. Bring your own pair of binoculars if you have them- we will have a couple of pairs to share with those who do not have binoculars, but supply is limited. We will provide canoes, paddles, and personal flotation devices (PFDs). We also recommend participants bring a hat and sunscreen to stay protected from the sun! This program is weather-dependent and we will communicate cancellations the morning of the scheduled outing.
