Sailors and soldiers! Spend a week in the 18th Century learning all the skills of life in the army and navy of the Colonies. Explore real artifacts from the time period in the Conservation Lab, learn to march, row, sew, navigate the land and the water, work with knots and rope, and explore copper, bronze, pewter, and iron in the metal shops. After making fire with flint and steel we will cook our meals over an open fire from 18th century recipes. Our week will culminate with a Wednesday overnight aboard the Gunboat Philadelphia II. Families can join campers beginning at noon on Thursday to celebrate Independence Day, enjoy an 18th century lunch, and share what campers have learned.
